He enlisted in the United States Coast Guard on January 10 1943, receiving his basic training in Boston, Massachusetts. He served during World War II with the rank of seaman, first class.[2][3]
He passed away in 2008 at age 87 and was buried in Kimberly in the Holy Name Cemetery.[2]
